The State Library and Archives of Tasmania’s Reading Room, History Room and Allport Museum at 91 Murray Street Hobart has additional conduct rules prescribed in the Archives Regulations 2014 on viewing and handling original records and heritage materials.

  • Original materials must not be copied, reproduced or removed without permission.
  • People must not write in or on a State archive, or place anything on it or fold, crease, mark or damage the material.

The above rules are available on our website. The terms and conditions of entry can be found under History Room terms and conditions.

A staff member may remove or exclude a person from the History Room if they do not comply with the terms and conditions of entry or contravenes the Archives Regulations 2014.
