4. Deselection
Material in the Heritage Collections is designated for permanent preservation, the only exceptions might be:
- Where multiple copies of a book are held in the Heritage Collections, the excess copies are assessed for transfer to a lending or reference collection within Libraries Tasmania.
- Where an item is in poor condition, a superior copy may be acquired to replace it and the inferior copy assessed for transfer to a reference collection, lending stack, or disposal.
