Sir John Morris Memorial Trust Fund
This Trust supports library and archives staff and other professionals in the sector across Tasmania to build knowledge, skills and connections. Here’s what you need to know before applying:
What activities may be funded?
- Library and archive training.
- Research work in a relevant field of study.
- Travelling scholarships for educational travel in a relevant field.
- Exchange programs for library workers.
- Lecture tours that advance library and archive knowledge in Tasmania.
Who can apply and what do I need to know?
- Applications for Trust funding are invited from staff working in academic, school and special libraries, Libraries Tasmania and any other Tasmanian organisations providing library and/or archive services.
- Only one application per person will be considered each financial year.
- Funding is intended to support your proposal but may not cover the full cost.
- Each application is assessed on its individual merits. If you have other sources of funding contributing to your proposal, these will be considered.
- Before applying, you must obtain approval from your employer or organisation to participate in the proposed activity.
- All successful grant recipients are expected to provide a written report after they have completed their activity.

What are the application deadlines?
Applications are reviewed at Trust meetings, held quarterly.
You’ll be notified of the outcome approximately two weeks after the Trust’s meeting.
T.M. Crisp Memorial Sporting Fund
The T.M Crisp Memorial Sporting Fund was established in 1970, This fund supports the purchase of sporting books for Libraries Tasmania’s public and reference libraries.

The State Library and Archives Trust (the ‘Trust’) operates under the Libraries Act (1984). It is responsible for managing property and funds acquired through gifts, bequests, or other means. The Trust meets four times a year.
