2. Scope


This Policy addresses in-person unacceptable behaviour for people who:

  • Visit a Libraries Tasmania public library, State Library and Archives of Tasmania site, Allport Museum or any other public space managed by Libraries Tasmania.
  • Use Libraries Tasmania-owned resources.
  • Access Libraries Tasmania programs and services delivered at an outreach.
  • View and handle original records and heritage materials in the History Room, 91 Murray Street, Hobart.

This Policy addresses in-person unacceptable behaviour for people who are:

  • Communication received in writing, over the phone, by email, through our online feedback form or through social media activities.
  • Prisoners visiting the Ron Barwick Prison Library.
  • Workplace misconduct.
  • Volunteer misconduct whilst undertaking volunteer duties for Libraries Tasmania.

The term “staff” in this policy means both paid employees and volunteers.
