6.1 Exclusion and banning categories
The following levels are used to guide staff decision-making around exclusion and banning:
- Exclusion (up to 48 hours) – verbal notice.
- Category 1 – Low level ban (up to one month) – written notice.
- Category 2 – Medium level ban (one month to 12 months) – written notice.
- Category 3 – High level ban (12 months +) – written notice.
Depending on the severity and impact of the unacceptable behaviour, a person can be banned from:
- A single Libraries Tasmania site where the unacceptable behaviour occurred.
- Multiple Libraries Tasmania sites within a particular region.
- All Libraries Tasmania sites statewide.
