2.9 Compliance with laws and policy
Room hirers must ensure their event and attendees comply with all relevant laws, including:
- Anti-Discrimination Act 1998 (Tas) —See Equal Opportunity Tasmania
- Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act 2012 (Tas) and WHS Regulations 2022 (Tas).
Hirers must also follow Libraries Tasmania policies, including but not limited to: Responsible Conduct Policy, Client Diversity and Inclusion Policy and Safeguarding Children Policy.
The hirer is responsible for ensuring maximum room occupancy is not exceeded, attendee behaviour, managing noise, preventing disturbances, avoiding hazards and safety risks during their event. Further information is provided in the Terms and Conditions.
