About our architectural records
Our vast collections of public architectural records span the 1820s-1990s. We also accept deposits of private sector architectural records from firms and individuals.
Adding the archives of private sector architecture to our collections has enabled us to preserve and make accessible a more complete story of Tasmania’s architectural history for current and future generations.
Our aim is to make these collections as widely visible and accessible as we can. We are developing a relationship with the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) to formally recognise the importance of our documentary heritage and its continued preservation.
