Kingston Library upgrade and temporary closure: 16–22 March

Exciting changes are coming to Kingston Library!

The library will temporarily close in March while we install new shelving and refresh the layout to create a more welcoming and accessible space for everyone.

These upgrades will make it easier to find what you’re looking for, improve how people move through the library and help us deliver a better experience for families, learners, readers and visitors.

Closure dates

To complete the work safely, Kingston Library will close from Monday 16 March to Sunday 22 March 2026.

The library will reopen on Monday 23 March 2026.

Foyer opening hours

While the main library space is closed, the foyer will remain open for the following services:

  • Returning borrowed items
  • Collecting holds
  • Collecting meeting room keys for the Kingston Learning Centre
