About Allport
The Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts is a special collection of the State Library and Archives of Tasmania. Explore its treasures in-person and online including nineteenth-century paintings, prints, rare books, Georgian furniture and decorative arts. Visit our website to find out more.
Visit us
The Allport Museum is located on the ground floor of the State Library and Archives of Tasmania building, in the far-right hand corner of the building as you enter. It is just a 5 minute walk from the city centre.
Entry is free and bookings are not required.

Accessibility
There is level access to all public areas of the State Library and Archives of Tasmania building, including the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts.
We welcome guide dogs and assistance dogs into the Museum.

Visitors are invited to take photographs for personal use within the Allport Museum unless otherwise indicated. Please note use of flash and tripods is not permitted.
