4. Parent expectations and responsibilities
Parents and caregivers are responsible for their children and their choices in the library, including selecting materials and using the internet. Library entrance signage reminds parents to supervise children in their care.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent unless otherwise specified.
Some older children aged 12 to 17 visit the library independently. However, their parents remain responsible for them including ensuring their children understand the library’s policies and the importance of respectful conduct while using our spaces, resources and collections.
