3.1 Program and event governance
Libraries Tasmania provides standard programs and events on a regular basis across multiple locations, predominantly in public libraries. These are decided by Libraries Tasmania at the organisational level, based on a collective commitment to equity, universal access and Libraries Tasmania’s Strategic Directions.
Decisions around non-standard programs and events are generally made at the local level. Libraries Tasmania Managers (or delegate) must undertake and document an evaluation process to ensure new proposals comply with this Policy, and a risk assessment to ensure that due consideration is given to safety and any risks are mitigated. This includes considering risks for child safety and wellbeing according to Safe. Secure. Supported. Safeguarding Framework (DECYP).
Any new proposals must have in-principle support from the relevant Director.
All programs and events are regularly reviewed to ensure they continue to meet their objectives and requirements in this Policy.
