4. Definitions

External provider

Includes local, federal and state government agencies (not including DECYP), non-government organisations, not-for-profit organisations, sporting clubs and other third-party providers.

Programs and events

Programs and events are scheduled informational, educational, recreational, social, or cultural activities that engage communities and connect people to Libraries Tasmania services, spaces and collections. Libraries Tasmania programs and events may be:

• one-off, regular, or ongoing
• delivered in a Libraries Tasmania location, off-site in other locations or online
• delivered by Libraries Tasmania staff, volunteers or external provider.

Programs and events are not exhibitions, promotional activities, community noticeboards or static displays, the sale of ex-library books or ex-library items, or activities planned, sponsored and delivered by other groups that use the library only as a venue through room hire agreements.
