Event Description

Join Devonport Library and Devonport Regional Gallery for a two-day collaborative filmmaking adventure inspired by the upcoming tidal.27 festival theme, The Rivers and Waterways Are Talking.

Day 1 Monday 5 October 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Devonport Library, Melrose room, level one, paranaple centre

Working as a creative team, participants will imagine a story, develop a storyboard and plan their film at the library.

Day 2 Tuesday 6 October 10:30am - 12:30pm (1hr lunch break) 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Creative space, Devonport Regional Gallery

On day two, we'll head to the Devonport Regional Gallery to build sets, create scenes and bring the story to life through stop-motion animation.

Whether you're interested in writing, directing, designing, animating, filming or creating sound effects, there's a role for everyone in this shared creative project.

The finished film will be screened as part of the upcoming tidal.27 festival, giving you the chance to contribute to a unique community artwork inspired by our rivers, waterways and natural environment.

We recommend bringing a packed lunch and water bottle for Day 2.

Ages 8-12.

Please confirm your child is 8yrs of age.
Parents/guardians are not required to attend unless a child has special requirements.
Parents/guardians must sign children in and out of the workshops.
Please note due to the setup and type of work we will be undertaking children under the age of 8 cannot be accommodated.

Accessibility:

· The multi-level car park (corner of Best Street and Fenton Way) provides disabled access parking, lift access and flat walking surfaces between the car park and the paranaple centre. Council parking fees apply.

· Entrance to the paranaple centre is via automatic doors at both Market Square and Rooke Street entrances. The Market Square entrance offers universal access and is available at the touch of a button, providing ease for patrons with access difficulties.

· Inside the paranaple centre, Devonport Library is located on both ground and first floors. Escalators, lifts and stairs are available to take you between the two floors. A parent and child room is situated on the ground floor and accessible toilets are available on all floors.
