This statewide reading campaign for everyone aged 16 and over helps you to make reading a regular part of your day. Enjoy reading events and activities, connect to others and have a chance to win prizes!
Whether you’re into mysteries, crime, romance, fantasy, or non-fiction, there’s a perfect read waiting to warm up your winter.
So grab a blanket, your favourite hot drink, and let the reading adventures begin!

What’s involved?
Once you have registered, you can:
- discover book recommendations from well-known Australian authors.
- track your reading online
- set personal reading goals – whether it’s 10 minutes a day or a book a week
- take part in fun activities online and at your local library like book bingo, reading prompts, and themed challenges
- collect digital badges as you read and complete activities
- write book reviews and share your thoughts with others

It’s easy and free to participate:
- Log your reading and activities on the Read Books website.
- Visit your local library or register online through the Read Books site.
- Start reading – anything and anywhere you like!

Prize Draws
To be in the draw to win, participants must sign up to the Warm Winter Read through the Read Books website and:
- be aged 16 or above
- be a registered as a Tasmanian participant
- complete the specific number of book reviews OR reading days logged to be eligible.
There are four levels of activities and once these are completed, participants go into the draw for the listed prizes:
Level One
Write and submit one book review OR track five days of reading
PRIZE: Book voucher
Level Two
Write and submit three book reviews OR track fifteen days of reading
PRIZE: Bookish hamper
Level Three
Write and submit six book reviews OR track twenty days of reading
PRIZE: Sony Headphones
Level Four
Write and submit nine book reviews OR track forty five days of reading
PRIZE: Kobo eReader
As you progress through each level, you will stay in the running for each prize level.
Prizes will be drawn during the week starting 8 September 2025. Winners will be notified by their Local library.
