Tasmanians proved once again to be passionate readers, borrowing more than 3.2 million physical and digital items last year.

Digital resources continue to soar in popularity, with eBook and eAudiobook loans increasing by 6 per cent to nearly 1.2 million in 2025.

Tasmanian and Australian authors featured strongly across categories of both digital and physical books, including the growing popularity of children’s titles by Tasmanian Aboriginal authors.
