Close to 3,000 people responded to the 2023 Library Client survey. Your feedback helps us understand how we can improve and provide you with a better Libraries Tasmania experience.

  • 91% found what they were looking for in our collections.
  • 93% were satisfied with our services.
  • 73% felt more confident using digital technology after getting support from staff.
  • 79% said they learnt something new from our services and programs.
  • 95% think that Libraries Tasmania is a place for all Tasmanians.

You told us you liked…

  • our safe, warm library spaces
  • access to physical items as well as eResources in our collections
  • placing holds on items from libraries anywhere in the state
  • borrowing for free without overdue fines
  • programs and events for children and families
  • digital programs for older Tasmanians
  • our helpful and patient staff.

You told us you wanted…

  • more programs for people aged 15 to 40 years
  • more contemporary books
  • improvements to the Libby App
  • a higher turnover of books in our small libraries
  • more after-hours return chutes
  • more quiet spaces in our libraries
  • longer opening hours
  • less waiting time for items on hold
  • a simpler way to renew your Libraries Tasmania membership.

  • trialling longer opening hours at some libraries
  • installing more after-hours return chutes
  • improving the Holds Service so you can track the progress of your holds
  • improving the hiring process of meeting rooms.
