The History Room provides researchers with secure access to the archival resources and published heritage of the state of Tasmania.
Bookings are required to access this material. Weekday bookings are for three hours, and Saturday bookings are for two hours. There are two sessions per day:
- Monday to Friday: 9:30pm to 12:30pm, and 1:30pm to 4:30pm
- Saturday: 9:30am to 11:30am, and 12:00pm to 2:00pm

We are not able to do:
- Lengthy or ongoing research.
- Research assistance to people overseas or interstate when that information is available to them locally.
- Searches for missing persons.
- Valuations, legal and medical advice.
