Celebrate NAIDOC week @ Ravenswood Library

10 July at 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Enjoy a welcome to Country, try some traditional damper and make your own Tasmanian animal stickers to take home.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. Join Aunty Connie Goss as she welcomes you to Country and shares her traditional home-baked damper. Learn about our unique Tasmanian animals, colour in one of Janelle Olivia’s stunning illustrations, and turn it into a sheet of unique stickers to take home with you. Suitable for all ages.

Trowunna and Lutruwita are Aboriginal words for Tasmania. Libraries Tasmania acknowledge Tasmanian Aboriginal people as the traditional and continuing custodians of the land, waters and sky. We pay respect to Elders past present and emerging, who hold the memories, traditions, culture, and knowledge of Country. We extend our respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
