Book Week at Libraries Tasmania

Reading is Magic! Join Libraries Tasmania for fun Book Week activities from 17 to 23 August 2024.

Libraries help children of all ages and abilities explore the power of language from authors and illustrators around the world – because Reading is Magic.

Across the country preparations are underway for the biggest children’s reading event of the year, the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Children’s Book Week.

This year’s Book Week theme is ‘Reading is Magic’.

Find Book Week activities and events at your local library on the Libraries Tasmania events website.

Choose your next read from the 2024 CBCA Book of the Year nominees (opens CBCA website). All Tasmanian Government school students have access to these books via the digital reading app, Sora.

Winners and Honours are announced on Friday 16 August 2024, 12:00 pm (noon) AEST.

Visit the shadow judging Book of the Year Awards website and read children’s reviews of the 2024 CBCA Book of the Year Shortlist. The shadow judging Awards will be revealed on Friday 16 August.

Find the shortlisted titles on the Libraries Tasmania catalogue and at your local library. Find eBooks and eAudiobooks on OverDrive/Libby.
