We’re celebrating 80 amazing years of Children’s Book Week from Saturday 16 to Saturday 23 August 2025.
Children’s Book Week is an opportunity for readers of all ages to dive into stories and spark their imagination. This year’s theme is Book an Adventure!
Join in the fun for one of the reading highlights of the year! Many events are happening around the state – dress up as your favourite book character and visit a Children’s Book Week Storytime near you.
Adventurers can also join a thrilling Library Scavenger Hunt quest for primary school children or teens at your local library.

The 2025 CBCA Book of the Year Awards were announced on Friday 15 August at an event at the National Library of Australia in Canberra. Congratulations to all shortlisted creators and publishers.
