3.3 Other prioritisation factors
Considering the above collection type and format priorities, further prioritisation assessment is undertaken that evaluates:
- irreplaceability (eg rare books, unpublished manuscripts)
- uniqueness
- historical value
- cultural value (eg Glover artwork in History Room, artworks in the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts)
- monetary value
- value to ongoing government business
- impact of losing information content
- impact of losing a valuable artefact (even if the item is available in digital form)
- items that do not belong to us (eg Van Diemen’s Land Company records, Mercury images, items on loan to us)
- additional obligatory requirements
- records critical to managing our collections, eg documented agreements for State archives up to 2006 (records since then are in Content Manager).
