How to cite state archives
When citing archival records, you need to include:
- The name of the institution holding the record
- The item number
Example – Tasmanian Archives: HSD62/1/4
When creating a reference list, bibliography or footnotes you will need to include:
- The name of the institution holding the record
- The name of the agency or person who created the record
- The series title
- The item title and date range
Example – Tasmanian Archives: Devon Public Hospital; Admission Registers, HSD62/1/4 1939-1943
