Tasmanian adults supported to re-engage with learning through Libraries Tasmania

Media Release

15 June 2022

Tasmanian adults can now get more help to engage or re-engage with learning through Libraries Tasmania’s Lifelong Learning Information Service.
Funded through the Government’s Adult Learning Strategy 2020-2023, the service draws on Libraries Tasmania’s expertise as trusted information providers. The service helps Tasmanian adults to find information about formal learning and study options that are available within Tasmania, including those that lead to qualifications.
Adults who access this service by visiting or contacting their local library, receive individualised information about learning pathways and opportunities to help them achieve their learning goals. The Service will also help those who want to find informal learning opportunities in their community, to gain new skills or further a personal interest.

The Lifelong Learning Information Service is available in all public libraries across the State. The Lifelong Learning Information Service complements Libraries Tasmania’s direct support to adult learners through its Adult Literacy Service and other learning programs, and is another way Libraries Tasmania champions lifelong learning across the state.
