New Tasmanian Library Advisory Board appointments

The Tasmanian Library Advisory Board has been appointed for a new term from 1 January 2025 until 31 December 2027.

Ms Jan Richards AM has been reappointed as Chairperson to the Board.

The Board was established under the Libraries Act 1984 to represent the general public who use library services. It provides advice to the Minister on matters relating to library and information services in Tasmania.

The new appointees include regional, rural, and urban representatives. A balance of new and returning members provides new ideas and perspectives while maintaining continuity.

The Board is a voluntary, independent advisory group and meets four times a year.
