During these summer holidays, families in Tasmania can enjoy fun and free activities for children and young people at local libraries and online.
The summer school holiday program offers a fantastic opportunity for kids to explore and connect with their community.
There’s something for everyone – all at no cost.
“There are many ways for young people to imagine and discover at their local library this summer,” said Library Network Director, Simon Jones.
“There are hands-on interactive science exhibitions, art activities and families can join the Big Summer Read to support their children’s love for reading. If you’re looking to ignite your child’s imagination with fun activities, your local library is the place to do it!”
Activities are running at libraries across the north, north west, and south of Tasmania. Highlights for young storytellers, artists, gamers and scientists include:
North
- Scratch Art at Campbell Town Library
- Pokémon Digital Gaming at Launceston Library
- Van Gogh Inspired Art at Scottsdale Library
North west
- Badge Making at Burnie Library
- Squishy Circuits at Smithton Library
- Zines for Young Story Seekers at Wynyard Library
