Adults of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to discover new learning opportunities during Adult Learners’ Week. Libraries Tasmania is offering a range of free activities and programs across the state from 1 to 8 September 2026.

This year’s theme is Follow your compass: Learning for life. It celebrates the many ways learning can enrich lives, build confidence, strengthen connections and open new pathways at every age and stage of life.

Libraries Tasmania Digital Inclusion and Adult Learning Coordinator Sonya Moon said libraries continue to play a vital role in supporting lifelong learning and inclusion within communities.

“Libraries proudly provide places of welcome, inclusion and learning within local communities. There are some exciting new programs being offered for Adult Learners’ Week. We hope to warmly welcome many community members participating right across the state.

“We encourage everyone to enjoy exploring new pathways, discover new interests and continue their learning journey,” Sonya said.
