Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read at the same time in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.
Libraries Tasmania is proud to host National Simultaneous Storytime across Lutruwita/Tasmania on Wednesday 22 May at 12:00 pm AEST.
Librarians and guest readers will present shared readings of Bowerbird Blues, written and illustrated by Aura Parker, published by Scholastic and Shortlisted for this year’s Children’s Book Council of Australia Picture Book of the Year award.
Oh, how I love the sky….
And moving through
The marvellous BLUE
“Starring a beautiful bowerbird on the search for blue, millions of young children will enjoy listening to a moving story of longing and connection at libraries and other venues across Australia and New Zealand,” said Mary Brooke, Services Coordinator – Children and Young People, Northern Collective, Libraries Tasmania.
National Simultaneous Storytime is a colourful, vibrant, fun annual event that brings the community together and promotes the value of reading and literacy. NSS is supported by the Australian Library and Information Association.
