“91 Stories” – Help tell Tasmania’s story!

Media Release

20th May 2021

Our stories make us who we are today in this place we call home – Tasmania.

Libraries Tasmania is inviting all Tasmanians to be the curators of an important crowd-sourced exhibition called “9 1 Stories” – designed to highlight the cultural items within the collections of the State Library, the Tasmanian Archives, and the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts collections.

Within these three cultural institutions, Libraries Tasmania holds a wealth of stories in its care – unique historical objects, rare and mysterious artefacts, and documents of memorable events and the personal lives of past Tasmanians. And, while the stories of many of these objects and items are well told and well known, many are still untold.

The 91 Stories exhibition seeks to change this, with the assistance of the community.

We’re asking Tasmanians to come forward and tell us which items and objects matter to them from our cultural collections!

For more information and to submit a 91 Stories entry, go to: http://Iibraries.tas.gov.au/91stories

Submissions are open until 31 May 2021.
