About:

Artist Ada Butler left behind an astonishing record of her short life, preserved in the collections of the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts and Tasmanian Archives. Despite her significant body of work, no detailed biography of her has been published.

Join us for a stroll through her life and the records used to piece it together. From her paintings and sketchbooks to the fascinating trove of portrait photographs documenting her likeness through the years, her story will be explored in this talk.

The event is part of National Family History Month at the State Library of Tasmania.
