Kirstie Ross: free Allport talk

Rewriting lives with objects

This month’s Professional Historian’s Association (PHA) (Vic & Tas) talk is Thomas and Mary Moore: Re-writing Lives with Objects by Kirstie Ross, Senior Curator Cultural Heritage, Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

Join Kirstie in exploring how rewriting women’s history using objects can correct the perception of women like Mary, whose lives were overshadowed by colonial accounts of their pioneering husbands.

Kirstie is currently Senior Curator Cultural Heritage at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, where she curated the 2019-2020 exhibition West: Out on the Edge. Her talk is based on content that featured in this exhibition.

Don’t miss this fascinating free talk on Thursday 1 June from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Allport Library and Museum of Fine Arts, 91 Murray Street Hobart.
