April 2 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for our first Kingborough Repair Cafe! Get help with fixing and mending, and contribute to saving items from landfill.

Kingston Library is proud to host the first Kingborough Repair Cafe.

Staffed by generous community volunteers, you can get support to learn new skills or fix small items.

Repairers are available for:

  • Fabric repairs and mending, e.g. hand sewing/hemming, patches, visible mending, loose or missing buttons, soft toy repair. Small machine sewing repairs.
  • Woodwork repairs: picture frames, small furniture items, e.g. chairs, sidetables.
  • Leadlight repairs or small items, e.g leadlight jewellery box or lampshade
  • Jewellery repairs, small items, fixing clasps, replacing earring loops etc
  • Plant saving tips and techniques

We hope to increase the range of repair options as we recruit more volunteers.

  • One item for repair
  • Curiosity and the willingness to observe and learn new skills
  • Any useful item to assist repair

Tea and coffee provided.

The Repair Cafe is being held in our C Block building, in the Learning Centre, 8 Hutchins Street. Parking available off Church Street.

We look forward to welcoming you on Sunday 2 April. The Cafe will run from 2 – 4pm.
