Libraries Tasmania aims to provide a lending collection that:
- is popular, contemporary and attractive
- suits a range of reading interests, ages and abilities
- appeals to Tasmanian readers, viewers and listeners.
It includes fiction and non-fiction for children, young adults and adults. It has:
- books, eBooks and graphic novels
- large print books
- audiobooks and eAudiobooks
- DVDs, CDs and console games
- magazines and eMagazines
- play scripts and musical scores
- language instruction kits
- service manuals.
We also offer:
- Baby Book Packs
- New Release Express Service
- Books and eBooks and eMagazines in a range of community languages
- 26Ten Quick Reads and eReads. These shorter, high-interest adult fiction books support adult literacy.
The lending collection is a statewide collection that moves around all our libraries across Tasmania. You can borrow items by:
- browsing the shelves in any of our libraries
- searching the collection on our catalogue and placing a hold to collect from your local library.
