This is a composite series of items kept together prior to the implementation in the former Archives Office of Tasmania of the Series System of arrangement for non-government records. Later acquisitions of records are processed according to the Series System and can be found as separate series created by this agency.

Two albums in this series have been digitised - NS648/1/5 and NS648/1/16.

Album NS648/1/5 contains studio portraits in which many of Beattie Jordan's dancers are identified. The album is largely comprised of images from the 1930s but there are occasional early ones (e.g. 1917) and later photographs (e.g. 1970), generally the children of former students. The photographs encompass dance performances With Beattie Jordan's dance school and drama performances with Hobart Repertory Society. Ballets and theatrical productions included 'Swan Lake' (1940), 'A Kiss for Cinderella' (1935), 'Noah' (1939), 'Daybreak' (1938),' Lady Precious Stream'(1938).

The majority of photographs were taken by Beattie's Studio; later ones were by J. Burgess-Watson and an earlier ones taken by McGuffie's studio.

Album NS648/1/16 contains photographs from the late 1930s to early 1940s that are largely unidentified - Gay Zannotti (aged 3), Betty ? and infant Graham Paul Wright are the only names recorded.
